We Teach People How to Draw for Games

Started in a small studio in Podgorica, we've spent years figuring out what actually works when teaching game art. No fancy theories—just practical skills that students can use right away.

From Side Project to Full-Time School

Back in 2019, three of us were working on mobile games and kept running into the same problem. Finding artists who understood game development? Nearly impossible in Montenegro. So we started teaching a few people on weekends.

What began as informal sessions turned into something bigger. By early 2023, we had enough students asking for structured courses that we rented proper space and made it official. Now we run programs throughout the year, though we keep groups small—usually eight to twelve people per course.

The Montenegro game industry is still growing, which means our students often get opportunities while they're still learning. Some finish the course and start freelancing within weeks. Others join local studios or work remotely for companies abroad.

Who's Teaching Here

Both of us still work on game projects outside of teaching. Keeps our methods current and makes sure we're not teaching outdated techniques.

Jelena Marković

Character Design Instructor

Background in illustration before switching to game art in 2018. Runs the character and environment courses. Known for pushing students to develop their own style rather than copying what's popular.

How We Got Here

Each year brought new challenges. Sometimes we figured them out, sometimes we had to completely rethink our approach.

2019

Weekend Workshops

Started with four students in a borrowed office space. Taught basic Photoshop and sprite animation on Saturdays. Most of it was trial and error—we'd prepare lessons based on what confused us when we were starting out.

First student got hired by a Belgrade studio three months in.

2021

Expanding the Curriculum

Added character design and environment courses after realizing students needed more than technical skills. Brought in Jelena to teach those sections since her illustration background gave students different perspectives.

Twenty-three students completed courses that year.

2023

Making It Official

Moved into dedicated space on Novaka Miloševa street. Set up proper workstations with tablets and software licenses. Started offering autumn and spring programs with structured twelve-week courses instead of informal sessions.

Now planning autumn 2025 enrollment with capacity for thirty-six students.
